The Storm

When you are in the middle of ocean in a boat storms can be very scary. So can the storms of life. You don't know when the storm is going to stop. You wonder if you are going to sink. But when you are trusting in the One who controls the storm you have nothing to fear.
Mark 4:39 "And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm."

The following is a song written by Mosie Lister.
Till the Storm Passes By

In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face,
While the storm howls above me, and there's no hiding place.
'Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

Many times Satan whispered, "There is no need to try,
For there's no end of sorrow, there's no hope by and by"
But I know Thou art with me, and tomorrow I'll rise
Where the storm never darkens the skies.

When the long night has ended and the storms come no more,
Let me stand in Thy presence on the bright peaceful shore;
In that land where the tempest, never comes, Lord, may I
Dwell with Thee when the storm passes by.

Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more,
Till the clouds roll forever fro the sky;
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.

As I post this blog I am reminded I need to trust in the one who can calm the storm

Packing Day

How many times have I moved? I don't know. I've lost count. I do know I have never had a moving company pack and move me before. Today the packers will come and pack everything I own. They say they can do it in one day. As I look around, I see a big job in front of me. I was reminded last night by my pastor how Israel would get up in the middle of the night and move sometimes. They never knew when they were moving. Sometimes they would stay in one place for only one day, sometimes longer. Sometimes they would travel for one day before stopping to set up camp, sometimes they would travel longer. But they traveled like this for 40 years to get to the promised land. I guess I am in good company. They were God's chosen people.

Happy Anniversary

What fun it is to have a party. Some people would do anything for a party, right Heather? I enjoyed your "Anniversary" Party.

As we go through this economic depression in our great country there is one thing that holds us together. That is family. We encourage each other and pray for each other. I am thankful for my family. It seem that no matter how bad things get or how far apart we get we help each other out.
I am very proud of each member of my family.

Day 1

The voyage to recovery seems long. I have never written my thoughts. Let's see how this works. I have been reading what my family has been writing. Maybe I can do this. I'll start with this and write more later.
